MOVING BEYOND 'SHRINK IT AND PINK IT'
To bridge the space between something you would wear to the gym and something you would wear out to dinner – and to move beyond the 'Shrink It and Pink It' approach taken with too many products for women – I worked with the Nike Tech and Timing team to create a number of watch designs for Nike Women. These designs went on to influence a number of watch launches for Nike.
NIKE IMARA STRIVE
The Nike Imara Strive watch has a seamless band that visually flows into the screen. The screen is protected by a beautiful anodized frame that gives a simple visual element that houses the buttons. Simplicity, beauty and protection in a small package designed for a female wrist.
NIKE WATCH CONCEPTS
We also created a number of other watch concepts that influenced products and informed Nike Timing's approach in designing for women. The first is a edgy square silhouette, the integrated double wrap strap provides a unique and more feminine touch. The 'Pully' watch is a pure round watch that treats the intersection of the watch and band in a novel way, providing a lighter, more airy silhouette, and an iconic, protective metal band around the screen that floats in the center.
