MODE: SNap-n=swap watchbands for android wear

To fulfill the Android Wear brand promise of 'Wear What you Want' we set out to develop a system of customizable watchbands that can be easily snapped-and-swapped between different watches that live within the Android Wear Ecosystem.

We partnered with watch band maker Hadley Roma to bring MODE bands to market in both traditional leather as well as silicone bands in 16 colors and 4 sizes.

(r)evolution

MODE is an evolution of the traditional watch band that allows you to snap bands onto standard watch-pins, making it easy for users to adopt the system as an aftermarket accessory for Android Wear, or even use them on regular watches.

My role was to bring MODE to shelf, from concept, design, branding, packaging and sell-in to developing marketing content as part of a scrappy startup team within Google. We (me a + PM and some borrowed Engineering resources within Google) achieved this within 18months.
