Pixel Buds PRO
Pixel Buds underwent a design overhaul to enable ANC (active noise cancelling) and a longer battery life. We scanned thousands of ears and adopted a highly iterative process to sculpt a simply soft and gentle form that efficiently houses the complex components comfortably in the ear while retaining the iconic circular colored cap.
In my role as Wearables Industrial Design Manager I oversaw the design development, working closely with our cross-functional partners to adapt our process to the constraints of WFH, provided design leadership and guidance from concept to launch.
IT’s ALL IN THE DETAILS
We worked in tandem with Engineering and Human Factors partners to design an earbud that is carefully considered from the inside-out. Components are tiered to sit flush inside the ear, and the details are symmetric and subtle.
CORAL, LEMONGRASS, FOG & CARBON
We developed four fresh colors that look great on all skin tones, and leveraged the black housing split to make the body of the earbud disappear in the ear.
